Residential Installation General Terms and Conditions
Scheduling:
- Our Doorcare scheduling team will confirm installation dates prior to installation
- Cancellation of appointments must be done 24hrs in advance, if not, cancellation fees may apply
- Uninstallable/false trips because of deficient site conditions, incorrect framing, or incorrect backing are subject to a $250.00 charge
- If no one will be home at the time of installation, please pre-arrange access with our Scheduling Team
Work Area Requirements:
- Work area must be safe, clean, and free of debris and items that may obstruct the work area
- Sideroom required is at least 6” on each side of door opening
- Backroom required is height of the door plus 4’
Framing Requirements:
- Opening preparation, including framing and backing, is not done by Doorcare
- Framing diagrams can be supplied upon request
- Any additional framing/backing, if required, will be assessed prior to install of door and may result in extra charges
- Fascia and trim boards must be installed prior to installation
Power Requirements:
- An electrical outlet must be provided adjacent to the motor operator, no extension cords are permitted
- Concealed or buried low voltage wires are to be run by others; Doorcare will only surface mount wires
- Electrical schematic drawing can be supplied upon request
Floor Requirements:
- Concrete floors must be installed prior to installation as per WorkSafe BC regulations
- Floor must be level and true, Doorcare is not responsible for sealing gaps underneath door
Weatherstrip:
- Weather strip must be installed at time of garage door installation
- Return trips to install weatherstrip are chargeable at $160.00/hr
General:
- Painting is by others unless factory ordered through garage door manufacturer
- Doorcare is not responsible for minor damage to drywall, frames, or floor that may occur during installation
- C.O.D. payments must be made the day of installation with our Scheduling Team
